About Us

Our employees are a bunch of know-it-alls. That’s a good thing. They’re experts in their areas and so can answer your questions and offer helpful advice. The result is a wiser purchase, a project that goes more smoothly and an overall better experience.

Here are just a few examples.

Scott

Scott L. started as a hardware buyer at Daugherty’s in 1976. Now he’s the owner. But that doesn’t mean he hides away in a corner office. You’ll still find him in the aisles of the hardware department answering customers’ questions and helping them find what they need.

Scott

Scott B. joined Daugherty’s in 1978 as an Appliance Service Technician. Now he’s the manager of appliance sales and service. Got a problem with an appliance that’s not working quite right? Scott B. can talk you through some basic checks you can do yourself that just might save you  a visit from a technician.

Kathy

Kathy C. in our appliances department started working at Daugherty’s in 1979. With more than 25 years of on-the-job experience, Kathy has plenty of helpful advice. For instance, when buying an appliance, don’t just measure the space where it will be placed, measure the other spaces (doorways, stairwells, etc.) it needs to get through first.

Patty

Patty S. got her start in hardware at the ripe old age of 12, marking freight in her uncle’s store in Michigan. She joined Daugherty’s in 1981 and is now our Hardware Sales Clerk and Buyer. She’s happy to answer any customer’s questions. The funniest one she’s been asked: “Can I get a man to help me?!?”

Mark

Mark Z. has been an appliance service technician since 1981. If something’s broken, he can fix it. He also can offer advice to keep your appliance from breaking in the first place. His number one tip: Keep your dryer vent clean. A dryer with a clean vent will run better, last longer and use less energy. Plus, it’s safer.
(Dirty vents can be a fire hazard.)
